“Learn-o-verse” Multimodal Learning Space Launched

The District Commissioner of Tinsukia, Swapneel Paul, inaugurated a new multimodal learning space called “Learn-o-verse” at the Tinsukia District Library. This facility is the first of its kind in any district library in Assam and has transformed the traditional reading room into a modern, technology-enabled learning environment.

The initiative was funded using the ₹20 lakh award money received with the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration. The “Learn-o-verse” features include a fully air-conditioned space, interactive learning panels, video conferencing facilities, access to digital resources, a collaboration zone, free Wi-Fi, and printing services, making it accessible and useful for students, researchers, and the general public.

The space was launched at a time when the Assam government declared 2025 the “Year of Books”, and is designed to bridge the digital divide, foster inclusive learning, and support a future-ready education environment for learners of all ages.

Its development is seen as a major step toward encouraging digital literacy and innovative learning approaches in public educational infrastructure in the district.
